Through the innovative use of natural materials, many specialist companies have created a cost-effective alternative to natural slate roofing. For all its aesthetic qualities, natural slate has limitations in that it cannot be formed into complex shapes. This means that weathertight construction in natural slate can only be achieved by significantly overlapping slates. The result is high labour costs, weight issues and performance limitations. However, the innovative slate produced by our suppliers overcomes these issues and provides an excellent alternative to traditional and natural roofing slate.

Here at Huw Bolderson Roofing Merchants, we supply roofing slates from two major roofing slate manufacturers; Marley Eternit and Cembrit. Both manufacturers produce a range of high-quality slates, each with their own bespoke design and various styles.
